VisiPick is a demonstration app for colorimetric calibration with a smartphone. The colorimetric and spectral values it shows are estimates, obtained from the phone camera images and from a colour checker calibration: their accuracy depends on the device, lighting, exposure and correct positioning of the target. They do not replace instrumental measurements or Profilocolore's professional spectral imaging systems.
Reflectance spectra are estimated using the NCS 2050 and PFCL pigment spectral libraries as statistical reference. Both libraries were measured by Profilocolore with a calibrated Instrument Systems CAS 140CT spectroradiometer, with data at 1 nm steps between 400 and 700 nm, and a FORS-type probe in 0°/45° geometry (two illumination fibres and one collection fibre, in a closed enclosure).
The NCS codes shown indicate the closest colour in the library measured by Profilocolore: they are indicative and do not replace official NCS samples. NCS is a registered trademark of NCS Colour AB.
